Terms of Service

Laplace Terms of Service

Terms of Service for SaaS users, workspace members and B2B pilot customers. It describes account access, acceptable use, AI assistant behavior, Jira integration, Customer Data and liability boundaries.

1. Parties and scope

These Terms govern access to and use of Laplace, operated by Alexander Nekrashenko ("Laplace", "we"). A user, organization or customer that creates an account, workspace or connects Jira accepts these Terms.

These Terms apply to SaaS users, workspace members, organization administrators, invited users and B2B pilot customers. For enterprise or custom agreements, the separately signed agreement controls over these Terms.

2. Accounts, workspaces and access

  • Users must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
  • Customer is responsible for users invited into an organization or workspace and for assigning roles and permissions.
  • Laplace may limit or suspend access for Terms violations, security risk, abuse, fraud or unlawful use of the service.
  • Users are responsible for securing their credentials and must notify Laplace of suspected unauthorized access.

3. Acceptable use

  • You may not use Laplace for unlawful activity, rights violations, access control bypass or attacks on infrastructure.
  • You may not intentionally submit malware, third-party secrets, unlawfully obtained data or data that customer is not allowed to process.
  • The service is not intended for children, biometric data, medical data, special categories of personal data or other highly sensitive data without a separate written agreement.
  • Customer is responsible for the lawfulness of data submitted into chat, workspace or made available through Jira.

4. Customer Data

Customer Data means data that a user or customer submits to Laplace, stores in a workspace, sends through chat, receives as assistant messages or makes available through connected sources, including Jira.

Customer retains rights to Customer Data. Laplace processes Customer Data only to provide the service, security, support, backups, compliance and other purposes described in the Privacy Policy and DPA.

  • Laplace does not use Customer Data to train foundation models.
  • Embeddings are treated as Customer Data because they may mathematically reflect source content.
  • Jira-originated data is processed within OAuth scopes and connected Atlassian account permissions.

5. AI assistant and output limitations

Laplace provides an AI assistant for search, analysis and response generation based on workspace data, Jira and other available context. AI output may be incomplete or incorrect and should be reviewed before important decisions.

  • Laplace aims to provide source links and indicate when available context is insufficient.
  • AI output is not legal, financial, medical or other professional advice.
  • Customer is responsible for reviewing and using AI output in its business processes.

6. Jira integration

Customer connects an Atlassian/Jira account to a workspace and determines what data Laplace can access through that account permissions and OAuth scopes.

For shared workspace connection, customers should use a dedicated Jira user with least privilege where possible.

  • Laplace currently does not download Jira attachments.
  • Laplace does not change Jira data by default except through actions explicitly initiated by an authorized user through available product features.
  • Customer is responsible for access settings, permissions and lawful transfer of Jira data into Laplace.

7. Privacy, security and DPA

Personal data and Customer Data processing is described in the Privacy Policy, DPA, Data Retention Policy and Subprocessors list. These documents are part of the Laplace trust package.

If these Terms conflict with a signed DPA or enterprise agreement on Customer Data processing, the more specific DPA or signed agreement controls.

8. Plans, payment and pilots

Paid plans, trials, pilots and billing terms are governed by the selected plan, signed agreement, invoice or separate commercial terms.

9. Availability and service changes

  • Laplace may modify, improve or discontinue individual service features.
  • Dedicated tenant, private connector, VPC and on-prem connector are available only under a separate written agreement.
  • Laplace may perform maintenance, fix security issues and restrict features when needed for stability or security.

10. Warranty disclaimer and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" to the extent permitted by applicable law. Laplace does not warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted or suitable for every customer purpose.

Liability limits, governing law and dispute resolution are handled under applicable law unless a separately signed agreement states otherwise.

11. Termination and data deletion

A user or customer may stop using the service and request data deletion through support@laplaceapp.com.

Data deletion process and backup rotation are described in the Data Retention Policy.

12. Contact

Customer support contact, privacy requests and security issues: support@laplaceapp.com.

If separate commercial or enterprise terms are agreed with a customer, those terms apply together with these Terms or control within the signed agreement.
